The Kaikoa Method

Kaikoa means ocean warrior. This method came to me while I was recovering from a near fatal boating accident while trying to rescue a drowning snorkeler off the Hawaiian islands. I used this method to streamline the recovery of my identity. Kaikoa became a daily affirmation and through the process of healing I discovered ways to reduce the chaos and create the space for recovery. This is the ocean warrior archetype.

Here’s how the Kaikoa method healed me for me:

Embody love:

Love conquers all.

Find your Purpose:

Write down your values. These were important in helping me find identity when I felt lost at sea. Find goals to strive towards. Determine why you want this change. Write your answers down with clarity and intention because this will be the basis of your transformation.

Be Mindful, Meditate:

Practice everyday. Make every decision count towards your greater goal. You’re courage to take the baby steps will lead you through the process. These are your goals and no one else will do the work for you.

Simplify Your Lifestyle:

The key to success is to let go of anything that does not bring you joy. We all have a little extra drag when it comes to our space. Let it go, you’ll be glad you did! Shedding the pounds will allow space for the improved version of yourself to grow.

Be Committed:

Stand by your intuition. It is your time to commit to yourself and your future. Be bold, be tough, but always train yourself first. Commitment brings every decision closer to reaching your goal.

Be Disciplined:

Daily Rituals will allow for better habits. This will reduce stress and increase your available time. Practice discipline, everyday in everyway.

Be Skillful:

Build your confidence. We all have skills that feel a little rusty sometimes. So shake off that salt and get to practice. Read, swim, surf, cook good food, whatever your flavor. Have fun with it.

Trust The Process:

Trust is everything. In yourself, your relationships, a cause and God. Your commitment to honesty, loyalty and integrity will take you far in life.

Be Coachable and Adaptable:

Be fluid in your beliefs but grounded in your values. Turn the tide in your favor. Study the strengths you see in others. It is necessary to change your tactics when it is time for you to break the cycle.

Be Accountable:

Let go of fear and doubt. Own your emotions. Let’s get to the core of these emotions so we can rewrite the dialogue and reframe the memory in order to find strength and encouragement from the same experiences.
